To the men and women of Hope Services,
I just want to say thank you for goodies you sent over for the men and women serving in Afghanistan. I am currently located on Camp Tombstone in the Helmand Province, which is located in the southwest region of the country, advising members of the Afghan National Army in conducting public affairs. I can tell you it's like Christmas when we receive items in from people like you.
Please give a special thanks to Nasreen, Peter W. Seezer, Veem, Alex, and Luis Sanchez who assembled our packet.
Thanks again for your kindness and generosity,

Dear Marge,
Thank you for your heartfelt generosity and thoughtfulness to the needs of our troops. Your kindness has certainly made a positive impact on the lives of our brave warriors transiting in and out of Afghanistan. The packets assembled by your clients were well received. Your efforts are so very important to our military men and women. We here at the chapel are but conduit for all the love and concern that people of the U.S. send us to share with our troops.
Our mission at the Wings of Hope Chapel stays strong through the support and kindness of caring individuals back home. Thank you for serving with us! Your contribution has indeed improved the morale of our deployed military personnel and provided an encouraging reminder of home. To learn more about our efforts, stay tuned at www.manas.afcent.af.mil.
On behalf of our entire chapel staff, thank you for your support!
Thank you very much for the great little bags of candy and snacks that you packed into the Operation Care and Comfort care packages. They definitely brought some smiles to my Marines and Sailors. Candy and granola bars pretty much win over most everyone here, cant get it unless its in care packages. its funny how we miss all the stuff that we coudl get at walmart, its the small things that you miss.
thank you again for your support and have a great week!

Marg – Thank you for all the wonderful items within your package you sent to the Men and Women of the Armed Forces !
It arrived here at Camp Arifjan – Kuwait and was happily received ! I love Milk Duds and Skittles !!!
Seeing all that made me think of home and wanting to get back quickly (but) we have a job to do here in the desert !
The Mission is not complete – so another dusty day must follow before some of us will be able to leave and join the real world back home.
Embrace what you have there at home and make sure whoever had a hand in the building of this package knows that they did some real good today.
God Bless you guys !

Thank you for the package. I received it a little over a week ago, but have been extremely busy. I was home on R and R leave.. trying to take care of everything for my son which is expected to be born june 16th. Im not due back till the 1st or so of june so i had to get the room together, and try and get what i could. Germany is a horrible place thus far to have a kid. Not because of the doctors but becuase you have no family there and really no place to buy things.. unless you are germany and or know german. We have had to order a lot of stuff off line, and her baby shower is also an online thing. Not something i wanted to put my wife through, and i feel bad for her right now.
Since I got back off of leave, and have been trying to get back in the groove of things over here. My job is always changing though, so It seems i am doing more time catching up then i am doing anything. It makes the time fly though. Out here its good to have something that keeps yo uon your toes so you dont think about home too much. People get upset when they think about it too much.
Well thank you again. I am sorry this is short and all over the place but i have to get back to work. Have a great day.

Ms. Cimafranca,
I would like to thank you for the boxes that we received from Hope Services at Camp Victory, Iraq. It was very much appreciated by the soldiers, sailors, and airmen here at USD-I headquarters. We also sent part of it to our soldiers assigned to Joint Base Balad. It is very important to us to know that people at home support us in our efforts here.
Please thank Nasreen, Peter, Alex, Veam, Luis and the others for us too.
Thanks again,

Marg,
I just wanted to let you know that your letter and box of food/supplies made it to the 438th Air Expeditionary Wing in Kabul, Afghanistan. We have a great mission where we get to mentor and advise the Afghan Air Force.
A little about bit about us: The 438th AEW is responsible for training over eight hundred AAF personnel how to properly maintain and operate their fleet of Russian-made Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters, An-32 cargo planes and Italian-made C-27 airlift aircraft.
We have helped the Afghan's double their Mi-17 fleet, re-energize their
Mi-35 gunship program and bed-down their first-ever western-designed aircraft-the C-27 Spartan aircraft.
With our support, the AAF has flown over 7,000 sorties delivering 80,355 passengers and 500,000 tons of cargo throughout Afghanistan. The Corps also delivered twenty-seven tons of ballot materials supporting the Afghanistan Presidential Election; rescued over five-thousand villager's displaced by floodwaters; stood-up three forward operating bases, and hosted several high-ranking officials to include the United States Secretary of Defense - the honorable Robert M. Gates; the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF); the Czech Minister of Defense; the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; the Chief of Staff for the British Ministry of Defense and countless others.
The 438th AEW is on schedule to complete their task of preparing the Afghan's to independently operate their Air Force before 2016. At present, the Afghan's have 52 military aircraft and over 4,000 assigned personnel. Those numbers are expected to grow to 154 aircraft and over 8,000 personnel between now and 2016.
We have a great mission and really enjoy mentoring our Afghan counterparts, but we do miss home. Thankfully, there are organizations like the Hope Services who take time out of their busy lives to send us a taste and comfort items from home. The care package was shared with other Airmen, Soldiers, Seaman and Marines here in Kabul. We wish you all the very best.
